A most unusual type of ambigram
45° reflection ambigrams are most easily read by placing a mirror at a 45° angle to the horizontal word. The examples pictured below are shown both ways, so that no mirror is required. They can also be read by placing the word onto a transparent material and rotating that at a 45° (see the Nexus example). This type of ambigram can be reflected to either the left (most common) or to the right.

Shark Attack A harder to create right-handed reflection because each letter reflects the same position in the word. Note how A reflects to A, and K to K. |

Number 25 By keeping a consistent looking stylized font it was relatively easy to reflect the N to the R, the U to the E, and the M to the B. The 25 was added to fill out the design. |

Horny Toad Aka. horned lizard, native to the Western United States. Note how I resolved the Y problem by having both horizontal and vertical words share it. |

Vaca Dude Vaca is Spanish for cow, so I'm just trying to be funny here. |

Nexus Designing this word as an ambigram is how I discovered 45° reflections in the first place. Made for my son Erin's Burning Man camp. |
